To Kill a Mockingbird

Students will be reading Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird. Some of the reading will be done in class and some of the reading will be required as homework. I have sent a tentative reading schedule and novel home with each students and I have attached the reading schedule below.

Semester Exam

Students will be taking the semester exams and ending the 2nd Quarter next week. The semester exam will include the following: Unit 8 Vocabulary Test, Grammar Quiz over Prepositional Phrases, and "The Odyssey" test with a writing prompt. Please be prepared for the exam.

2nd and 5th Period Exam on Wednesday
1st, 4th and 7th Period Exam on Thursday
3rd and 6th Period Exam on Friday

"The Odyssey" Travel Brochure

Students will be creatively designing and developing a travel brochure covering the places and adventures that Odysseus and his crew experienced. This assignment will be handed in the week of exams and class time will be provided to complete this project.

Grammar Lessons - Prepositions (Again)

Students will be given a set of mini-lessons to complete as a class over the next couple weeks. Students will be tested over this material on prepositions on Friday, December 11th. They will be expected to hand in the mini-lessons at that time.

"The Odyssey"

Students will be reading several books from "The Odyssey" by Homer. We will be discussing the material and answering questions to prepare for the final assessment which will be found on the semester exam.
